Living in North County can mean something new to do all the time. From bird watching and the beach to lagoons and free jazz concerts in the summer, you'll never be at a loss for an activity to enjoy. Hiking is a big draw to the area, as well. If you love to hike, here are nine great North County places to do that.

It's easy to moderate hiking, and the length will depend on which direction you head in your adventures.
3). Batiquitos lagoon
Hiking here is easy to moderate, and is three miles total when you hike all the way out and back. It takes about 1.5 hours and is open year-round. Expect migratory waterfowl, mud flats, marsh, scrub vegetation, and a sanctuary for a number of animals.
4). Calavera Hills Trails, Carlsbad
Gentle topography and an elevation gain of 1,00 feet make this trail a moderate hike of 2.4 miles total. It's a loop that's good for kids and dogs, and it's a great place to see birds and small animals.
5). Double Peaks in San Marcos
