The history of Henie Hills dates back to 1939, when Olympic skating medalist and movie star Sonja Henie and her brother, Leif, bought some 1,600 acres of untouched, coastal property. The two built a retreat, a 3,600 sq.ft ranch style home, for friends, family and Hollywood stars to escape the madness of the city. When more folks found out about the coastal retreat known as Oceanside, Henie Hills was developed.
