Vista, CA is a beautiful city with a rich history and is sometimes underrated by San Diegans & tourists alike. From water parks to Broadway shows, Vista has a lot to offer its residents, as well as visitors. We’ve taken the time to list just a few of the great amenities in Vista, which was once “The Strawberry Capital of the World.”

1) Close to the BeachCarlsbad Beach

The city of Vista is just 8 miles from the beaches of Carlsbad & Oceanside, which both neighbor Vista to the west. It only takes minutes to pack the swimsuit and head out to the beach to enjoy the beautiful waves and white sand beaches.

2) Dozens of Craft Breweries

California may be world-reknowned for its wine vineyards, but San Diego happens to be the craft brew capital of the world. Vista is just one of the beer meccas of San Diego and has dozens of great Micro-Breweries in its region. From the ever popular hoppy IPA to more mild Belgian Blondes, these breweries have something for every beer drinker's taste and are a destination for locals and tourists alike.

3) Great Public transportation

Leave the car at home. Vista has an extensive public transportation system, which is ideal for people who want to improve California's air quality or just avoid traffic and relax. People board the Sprinter light rail system in downtown Vista as they can travel west to Oceanside where it meets up with the Coaster. From there you can travel to downtown San Diego to catch a Padres game or up to Los Angeles for a metropolitan experience. The Sprinter also travels east to the local Universities, as well as Escondido. The North County Transit District Breeze Bus also travels extensively in the area.

4) Vista Village

Shopping, entertainment and award-winning restaurants call to residents to come out to Vista Village. Watch movies at the Krikorian movie theater, enjoy cupcakes from award-winning Little Cakes Cupcake Kitchen that is a two-time winner on the Cupcake Wars, or shop at the dozens of specialty and brand stores at the one-story shopping complex.

5) The Wave Water Park
