This is a delicious, though unscientific, tour through the best restaurants in the Encinitas area, presented through the eyes and taste buds of your Lund Real Estate team.
Carlton & Sandy - 101 Diner in Encinitas
Carlton and Sandy give their thumbs up to the 101 Diner in Encinitas and 151 reviews on TripAdvisor rate the restaurant excellent or very good. The eggs Benedict receive particular praise as does the Greek omelet. The sauce and consistency of the egg are bright spots on 101's egg Benedict dish, and the Greek omelet has tomatoes, garlic, spinach, mushrooms, olives, jack, cheddar and feta cheese for a yummy take on a classic salad.
Will - La Papagayo
Will can't stop talking about La Papagayo, which has a great vibe, is small and personal with great service and offers original Latin American food and live music on Saturdays. One local favorite that doesn't break the bank the Loco Moco, a coconut sticky rice smothered in a Mushroom Beef Gravy, a 7-ounce Beef Patty, 2 organic eggs, grilled Teriyaki pineapple and secret sauces.
Karlie - The Lanai
Karlie looks the tropical food and atmosphere The Lanai restaurant. This Hawaiian oasis offers vegetarian choices like the Veggie Bahn Mi with jalapeno, roasted beet, pickled ginger slaw, cucumber and pickled carrot. The burgers here are impressive and no one leaves hunger.
Kate - East Village Asian Diner
Four out of five Yelp reviewers and our very own Kate recommend East Village Asian Diner for hungry residents who like Eastern flavors. The monk bowl is mentioned in 85 reviews and you can add your choice of protein for a customizable meal every time you come. The beef power noodles are recommended on a stormy coastal day.
Tracey - Beir Garden
If you want a laid-back restaurant with European flair, come to the Bier Garden. This German restaurant is family-owned and operated by the Osfolk family, who provide a warm atmosphere with authentic Bavarian cuisine and a stellar beer selection. Locals recommend the Steak Crostini and Pork Belly burger.
Jeff - Bentley's Steak & Chop House
Jeff firmly believes in his favorite place for steak, Bentley's Stea and Chop House, where the whiskey peppercorn New York strip adds a spicy twist on this prime cut of beef. Start out with the crab stuffed mushrooms for your own version of surf and turn and don't miss an inch of a large menu littered with surprisingly tantalizing offerings from land and sea.
Garrett - Patio 101
Patio 101 is an indoor/outdoor restaurant in North County serving up local and seasonal fare for weekday lunch, happy hour, dinner, late night and weekend brunch. This charming eatery is pet-friendly and has wonderfully quirky menu names, such as the Twisted Elvis. If you belong to Open Table, you'll be happy to note that 101 is a member.
Tyson - Naked Cafe
Just to be clear, clothing is not optional, so Naked Cafe diners get no unexpected surprises in this warm eatery with a relaxing setting and diverse menu. Zomato reviewers love that the menu is healthy and not loaded down with salt and free. Try the ginger tomato soup with a yummy comfort food with a kick.
We would love to hear your take on local cuisine and help you with your current and future real estate needs at the Lund Team of realtors.
